About Folsom Dog Resort

The Folsom Dog Resort & Training Center is the creation of the Davis and Romero families. Both families live and raise their families in Folsom and are active in the community. With nearly 20 years of friendship, Jason, Leah, Teresa, and Jake make a great team. The team persevered for over a year between 2007-2008 in their effort to open Folsom's first and only high end dog boarding facility with outdoor play yard space.

With a wide array of services, comfortable accommodations and caring staff, the mission of The Folsom Dog Resort management team is to provide a comfortable, fun and warm environment for our guests to enjoy. As devoted dog owners who understand the bond between animals and the people who love them, our team is committed to serving our clients and supporting the community.

Meet Our Management Team

Jason Davis, Owner ‑ Dog Trainer ‑ Behavior Specialist

After spending eight years in corporate America, Jason Davis combined his people skills and passion for dogs to start his own dog training business in 2003. Best known as "The Dog Guy", Jason has earned a reputation in the region for his unique and effective dog training and dog behavior consulting. Jason is also one of the elite few to receive client referrals from Cesar Milan's Dog Psychology Center. A passionate philanthropist, Jason currently Folsom Rotary Club Member and serves as chairman of Folsom Independent Dog Owners (FIDO), a local organization focused on developing dog parks throughout Folsom.

Jason earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and Natural Resources Management at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He resides in Folsom with his wife Leah their two children, Annika and Toren. Jason can often be found running on the trails of the Sierra Foothills with his clients' dogs or with his own Labrador, Molly.

Jake Romero, Owner ‑ Business and Operations Manager

With more than ten years experience as a financial and business analyst for Symantec Corporation, Intel, and Blue Shield, Jake Romero is known for his analytical skills and ability to develop workable solutions. He has managed multi-million dollar budgets and conducted investment analyses on large corporate projects. Jake graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University, San Bernardino and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Jake grew up owning dogs and gained interest in developing a dog training and boarding business when he met his father-in-law, Tom Kerwin, in 1997. In his spare time, Jake enjoys cycling, playing golf, and spending time with his wife Teresa and daughters Mattie and Maya. Jake and his family live in Folsom and are the proud owners of Kona, a female chocolate Labrador Retriever (pictured above) who goes to work with Jake everyday.

Leah Davis, Marketing and Communications Director

For more than a decade, Leah Davis has worked as a consumer marketing and public relations professional at Manning, Selvage & Lee, one of the world's leading public relations firms. Leah has executed integrated marketing and public relations campaigns for a broad portfolio of clients including Hasbro, LeapFrog, Hewlett-Packard and Best Buy.

Leah earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. As wife to Jason Davis, aka ?The Dog Guy?? and owner of The Folsom Dog Resort, and mom to Annika and Toren, Leah devotes her free time to raising happy, healthy children and aspires to someday learn how to play the guitar.

Teresa Romero, Community Relations and Sales Specialist

With over 25 years of experience in sales and customer service, Teresa is a pro at building relationships and truly satisfying customers. Teresa developed her skills through growing and working in her mother's clothing store which successfully operated in Los Gatos, CA for over 26 years. Known for her amazing smile, Teresa is successful at building long lasting relationships because she operates from her heart and makes sure that her customers are truly satisfied.

In addition to raising a family and being a member of the The Dog Resort management team, Teresa is an Independent Sales Consultant with CAbi. Through her CAbi business Teresa is able to continue her passion for helping women find clothes that make them look and feel great. Teresa holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from California State University, Chico. She married Jake Romero in 1998 and is the proud mother of Mattie and Maya.
