Gentle, Caring Dog Training

Effective, humane, and designed by expert, loving dog trainers, the E-Touch Method is more gentle than most other training devices.

The E-Touch Method™

Part of effective dog training is reading the dog and using training approaches that work best for the dog. A great catalyst to effective dog training is found in the E-Touch Method™. We often incorporate the E-Touch Method™ with other creative dog training approaches because the dog receives more information in a shorter amount of time so that he retains the lessons sooner and longer.

What is the E-Touch Method™?

E-Touch is a dog training system that uses a remote electronic collar. The remote collar is a tool that allows the dog trainer to communicate with the dog more clearly than traditional methods of dog training. Instead of receiving commands with only one sense (hearing), the E-Touch Method lets the dog experience the command with at least two senses which creates a more concrete experience. The sensations from the remote collar are like emphasizing certain words in a conversation by gently touching the one you are communicating to.

Is the E-Touch Method™ Humane?

Absolutely. It is one of the most humane dog training systems available. It is more gentle than most other training devices as it delivers almost no kinetic energy into your dog's neck. We use only professional quality collars, invented by Martin Deeley, that have many safety features to prevent accidental injury.

E-Touch Method™, developed by Martin Deeley, "is not a magic method it is a catalyst which can be incorporated within training approaches to train even better. In training a dog we may use food, verbal rewards, tactile rewards, or whatever. The e-collar is a tool that can be added to the mixture to create something special. BUT the main principles of good dog training do not disappear, we stay creative, we do not depend on the e-collar for everything, there is no one best approach, it is not a race to see who can train the fastest. And most of all we work within the temperament and pace of the dog – reading the dog, and by doing so maintaining a true companion relationship is essential. We want a dog that will be a dog, will make decisions, and basically acts as a dog while remaining a partner and companion." –Martin Deeley

We can incorporate the E-Touch Method™ in our programs. Ask us how.
