Experience why we were Voted Sacramento Area’s Best Doggie Daycare!
Many pet parents worry their dog is bored, getting enough exercise and possibly damaging belongings or furnishings while they’re away for the day. This a real concern. You want your dog to be as healthy as possible so you make sure they eat right and see a veterinarian on a regular basis. Dogs also need physical exercise and mental stimulation for maximum overall health.
A Dog’s Life Without Lots of Play and Stimulation
If dogs aren’t busy, active and engaged, they become bored. Bored can lead to behavior problems such as barking, digging and chewing on your favorite shoes or furniture. Without regular exercise dogs can become overweight, impacting their quality of life and shortening their life spans.
We’ve designed and built our pet resort in Folsom, CA from the ground up so that your dog will have the best dog daycare experience and you will have peace of mind.
The Folsom Dog Resort & Training Center is the only facility in the region with over 12,000 square feet of outdoor play area.
We have the only Doggie Water Park in the area and dogs love it!
Our climate controlled indoor dog daycare play areas provide a safe place for indoor fun.
Our outdoor play areas have synthetic turf which is easy on a dog’s paws and joints as well as shade structures and water misters to provide shelter from the sun.
We maintain strict hygiene protocols to ensure that the entire facility stays clean and that your dog is safe and healthy while in our Doggie Daycare program.
We want to ensure that your dog has a safe and positive experience and that you have peace of mind when you bring your dog to Folsom Dog Resort’s Dog Daycare program. We take a great deal of effort in evaluating your dog in order to place him in the proper playgroup.
Medium/Large Breed Dogs: Labs, Goldens and various mixes are typical members of this pack. They can enjoy a play yard that is equipped with water features, splash pools, sprinklers, misters, and plenty of shade for when it’s time to rest. Pack play is available Monday – Friday.
Small Breed/Toy Dogs: Cavalier King Charles, Pugs, Terriers and other tiny tots will enjoy four group play sessions with other dogs of similar size in a separate play yard– just for small dogs. In between play sessions, your dog will be provided with a personal room inside our indoor temperature-controlled lodging area. Small dog day care is available Monday through Friday, and Saturdays depending on availability
Doggie Daycare can make a major difference in your and your dog’s life. Doggie daycare provides exercise, playtime, fresh air, and an opportunity to build socialization skills and most importantly–burn off all that pent-up energy!
Socialization helps dog learn how to function in your world.
Giving your dog a positive experience with new people, sights, sounds and other dogs helps build confidence.
Mental stimulation that encounters new things actually increases a dog’s mental capacity.
Socialization can also reduce anxiety, which could lead to unwanted behaviors such as excessive barking, chewing or nipping.
Poorly socialized dogs are more likely to react to the unknown with fear and aggression.
Well-socialized dogs, on the other hand, remain calm, taking things into stride.
Whether this is your first dog and you’re exceptional nervous about the best choices for the new love-of-your-life, or a seasoned dog owner, choosing the best doggie daycare is an important decision. Convenience, location, amenities and cost are considerations but there are many more factors to consider:
Safety First: Nothing matters more than safety. A reputable facility will put safety first. Five critical ways of achieving this are:
Formally trained staff on the many aspects of having dogs safely play together: All employees who handle dogs are thoroughly trained. We are fortunate to be co-owned by Jason Davis, known as ‘The Dog Guy’ regularly featured in local media providing Folsom and the Great Sacramento region with timely dog training tips. Jason shares his wealth of knowledge with this team.
In addition, staff members who work with doggie daycare have been certified by Outstanding Pet Care Learning Center and been taught safe dog handling, canine body language and social play skills by the industry’s leading authorities.
Dogs should go through a play style assessment: Folsom Dog Resort has each new dog meet the staff and other dogs to understand it’s play style.
Dog Daycare groups should be divided by size and play style: We take the time to evaluate a place your dog in the proper playgroup based on size and temperament.
Constant Supervision is a must: You probably imagine this is assumed. Unfortunately, it’s not a reality for most pet care facilities. It is for Folsom Dog Resort. We have reliable, significant staffing to ensure one or more staff members monitor the pack the entire time.
Vaccinations: To ensure the health and safety of all the pets that stay with us we require that each doggie day care guest vaccinations are current against the most common canine illnesses.
Required vaccinations include: Rabies, Bortella, K-9 influeza 2 boosters, Distemper
We verify current vaccinations with each veterinarian. This extra step provides peace of mind that your dog is playing among healthy dogs.
Whether you’re new to doggie daycare or looking for your dog to have an even better experience at a new environment, all new guests can enjoy your dog’s first day of daycare free! During her first visit, we will introduce your dog to our facility, our staff, and to our furry friends that attend daycare on a regular basis. We will ask you to complete a brief questionnaire so we can learn about your dog’s needs and personality.
This along with meeting you and your dog will help us determine which of our day care options is best for you and your dog. When you pick your dog up we will give a report of how your dog played and interacted with our staff and new friends. Depending on how often you plan to have your dog attend day care, discounted packages are available.
